Pipe Tobacco question

Love the smell. Can't get enough of it. Havent puffed on a pipe though since college (spare me the dick jokes). For a beginner...pipe? Tobacco?

Hopefully they have bulk stuff, honing and smell around, by an ounce or two of each and give it a try, I have about 8 different types in my truck

There is a really nice shop here. Tried all sorts of blends when I started trying a pipe. I ended up with straight up black cavendish being the stuff I like. Try it? Get fresh from a pipe shop whatever you do. There is a big difference between that and drug store tobacco.

There is a shop down the road that looks pretty cool, I think it is called the Tinder Box? I might swing in there sometime and see what they have. I have a desire to give a pipe a try, but like Olly, I'm concerned that I am a bit too young to pull it off without looking like a hipster douche.

Cavendish, burley, plug, Latakia, perique... There are a lot I different tobaccos and I'm still getting to know what's what, then some are flavored with bourbon or vanilla or aged. Could take a lifetime to figure out what's what

I spent 80$ on my first pipe, anything that is briar root is traditional pipe material, a lot of the cost depends on grade of the briar and detail of the pipe, whether its hand made or not, hell, you can buy a corncob pipe and figure out if you like it, a briar pipe will last a long time, google estate pipes and you'll find there is a pretty strong used pipe market

When you choose a pipe get one where the wood is thick and heavy. A new smoker tends to overdo it and it burns the tobacco. I mean it gets too hot and spoils the whole bowl. New pipe smokers tend to overheat and burn their balls, I mean bowls.
If you smoke cigars you probably know about how you can overheat and spoil a good smoke already.
