All our WMAs are set up in zones in flooded corn or marshes. These are the 3 I usually hunt. On opening weekend and peak migration every zone will be full and on weekends it will be about 75% and weekdays anywhere from 10%-50% depending on weather.

(Off my soapbox)

I actually tried to help a couple guys that were set up too close to some of my blinds. If they weren't assholes, I'd let em hunt in the blind with me. If it ain't on Duck Dynasty they don't want to hear it.

I know it sucks. But seriously, without an influx of people, we just marginalize ourselves, and make it very easy for those opposed to get rid of hunting. I may have a more "personal" stake in it, from hunting where I do 99% of the time. It's a national park, and the blind sites are limited. There is a draw every morning at 5:00 to get to pick your blind. There is no hunting anywhere besides at the established blind sites. In the last 5 years, I think all the blinds have been filled or people turned away exactly twice. That could be seen a s a good thing, but it's not. It shows a lack of interest. Every other morning beside those two, there were empty blinds to be had for anyone who wanted to hunt. A lot of days, there were only 4 or 5 of us there (singles and groups combined) "competing" for 22 blinds. And every year, the restrictions get more and more strict. Blinds are falling down, trails are overgrown, hunting days are cut. Why? Perceived lack of interest. If there were 30 groups of newbies there every morning, trying to get one of those blinds, would it suck? Yep. Would I get to hunt there far less? more than likely. But at least I know I had a chance to hunt there. The way it's going now, it'd be easy for me to view it as my own private refuge, with a basically guaranteed pick of the litter for blinds. But it's not. It's slowly going the way of the dinosaur, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if I wasn't allowed to hunt there at all within 5 years. It's a lot easier for them to "forget" about 10 guys than it is for them to "forget" about a crowd of 50 guys every morning.

Some of you guys are just in love with the Robertsons, straight up. I don't think they are ruining our sport, i think their show is just that. Too many idiots watching and believing everything on a fake TV show is what is making it shitty.

The movement hasnt made its way up here yet, so its not too bad. Just imagine if they actually showed hunting on DD...

What? Threatened to get shot, explain

Some friends and I was hunting a place that I had gotten permission to hunt and another guy showed up and decided to hunt there too. I had my decoys out and was calling while the other guy had nothing. Basically we killed every bird that came in and he got nothing so the next thing I know he was gone. I only hunt this place in the morning, so we packed up and left around 11. The next day we went back and set up. It gets to be daylight and there are 20 ga hulls all over the bank. Nobody I hunt with shoots a 20 but the other guy did. So we kept hunting and when we were done picked up all the hulls. One of my friends had the guys number so he called to see if they were that guys hulls. Sure enough they were and he proceeded to cuss me out about how bad of a person I was for what I did the day before and repeatedly threaten me about what he would do the next time he saw me (including getting shot, ass kicked, etc). This guy didn’t have permission to hunt there and I hadn’t run him off but was still mad because all the birds came to me and not to him I guess. This ties in my hatred of the new DD culture, I put in the work and because things didn’t go as they do on TV for the other guy, I was the one at fault. So I lost a little sleep over that one. The other guy is known for getting hot headed and doing stupid things, so the threats were serious to an extent depending on how mad he was.
