I've only hunted private a few times and although it's nice having the birds to yourself I enjoy public hunting. I love getting to the refuge headquarters at 5 in the morning with 100 other duck hunters anxiously awaiting the drawing results. I find it to be kind of fun sometimes when 3 or 4 ducks come out of the refuge and over a 160 acre flooded corn field with you and 8 other groups of guys on it all competing for the ducks. Yeah it sucks when you get a dumbass in the middle of the field that shoots at everything in sight but you just gotta brush it off and enjoy the morning.

But during the season when you are bitching about how shity your field is doing you jump at the chance to go hunt public ground. If you don't want to go hunt public thats fine. I might not have to work on getting my personal blind all net and tidy for the season of staring at empty sky's. But I'll take solace in the fact that I have a full freezer.................................... So tell me, whats the diffrence of having to sky bust a few birds at the end of the season. This is simply not true! Some of the best hunts I've had this year I only killed a few birds. You quantify best with numbers I don't. I had a lot of fun at colusa this year and appreciated the invite. Also had the worst experience ever hunting at Sutter.
