Not when catch them by hand, they can bite hard. Same thing with comorants. A big flock of feeding comorants over a gill net results in some tore up hands. Those fuckers draw blood even with gloves on.

I've caught a goose and multiple ducks by hand. All were calm and just hung out, allegedly.
