Whos ready to get fishing..! (happy TK?) haha

Postby grizz18 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 1:22 pm

With all the fishing talk flying around, and the weather (kinda) starting to warm up...whos ready to get fishing? I know I am. New boat this year, and just stocked up on all new combos...I'm pumped.

Lets see some fishing pictures. I don't care if they've been posted before, bass, crappie, tuna, kings, drum trout, or landscape pictures...lets see em!

Good job Grizz.

I caught this whopper of a pike in Manitoba near the Ontario border. Talk about a fighter! (not really)

I miss living on the coast. I spend a month or 2 in my boat when I'm off but miss living there.

And our guide caught this one in the exact same spot 20 minutes later

So as you can see, I have never been the worlds best fisherman. :fishing:

Maybe it's because of the time thing that I don't fish as much as I'd like. Hunting is generally a morning or evening thing. Sometimes all day, but you can have a good hunt and still have "family time" that day. When I fish, it's almost always an all day affair, almost always involves at least a couple beers, and doesn't leave either the time or inclination to do family stuff with what remains of the day when I drag my ass home, sunburnt, windburnt, tired, and sand-covered. Maybe it's just me, but that certainly seems to be the way it usually plays out. Fishing is way harder and time-consuming than hunting.

Interesting take AT. For walleye up here a scoot n' boot at dusk and dawn is a real option. 95% of the time I don't drink when I'm fishing. If I lived near the coast I would ride the beaches as a detour and fish diving terns. If the birds weren't diving I wouldnt surf cast it. Thats a sweet stop n' shop option that doesnt take up a lot of time.

It's better here to fish the water when surf fishing. Find the cuts, and you're in business. Eff a bird.

Interesting. For me its the opposite. Fishing is a few hours and I am done. Hunting takes all day and is much harder than fishing.

Pond fishing isn't so bad. But taking your vehicle and all your shit out on the bitch makes for a long day and a longer clean up.

How do you hunt ducks? I have 5x as much shit to carry out when duck hunting than fishing.

Salt water changes the equation, extra cleanup, and have to be prepared for more situations.

I don't carry two big ass coolers everywhere I go duck hunting, for one. (Bait/beverage cooler, fish taking home cooler), 2 14 foot rods, tackle box, couple chairs, sand spikes, and sand in every-fucking-thing at the end of the day.
