Talk about buck fever

Postby Olly » Wed Apr 03, 2013 8:19 am

You can find literally everything you need to hunt deer at Walmart, including, apparently, the deer...

From this story on cbslocal.com:
An Indiana County man is facing several charges, after wildlife officials say he went deer hunting in a Walmart parking lot. The Indiana Gazette reports 40-year-old Arcangelo Bianco Jr., fired several rounds from a handgun at a 10-point white-tailed deer from within the Burrell Township store’s parking lot, and then bagged the animal near Old William Penn Highway.

According to the story, the unconventional deer hunt occurred last November while Bianco was shopping and saw the buck in the parking lot. "Natty Bumppo" Bianco then allegedly hopped out of the truck, gun in hand and bullets started flying. He bagged the deer, then the Pennsylvania Game Commission bagged him. Bianco faces a misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment and a host of hunting violations, including (but not limited to) hunting without a license, shooting on or across highways and unlawful killing or taking of big game. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 1.

I always thought buck fever was that feeling you get right as you are pulling up on a buck. Usually causes a miss and you don't remember any of it.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Buck fever is the adrenaline rush you get when you see a deer. Some people can't handle it and freak out. Others take a deep breath and drop the deer. Either way, if you don't get buck fever when your deer hunting then there is no point in it.

I thought it was sniping a deer out the bathroom window with a 22 and the huge rush of "oh no I hope I don't get caught; better drag this into the basement before anyone sees me quick"
