Some of the sodiers in the middle east that insist upon saying they are protecting our freedom when they are fighting political wars. They aren't protecting OUR freedom, they're are involved in some bullshit liberation/take-over of another country. Now if they were actually protecting our freedom, then I have no problem with them saying it and applaude it. I'm not bashing their service just the fact that they want a pat on the back for something they aren't doing.

If that was the case, we never would have buddied up with Stalin. I do agree with you for the most part, but we really didn't know about the "evil" you speak of until the war was damn near over. From a geopolitical standpoint, it was evil from the get-go, but from a humanitarian standpoint, when we entered the war, we really didn't have a clue.
