That sounds awesome!

Yea I said it, big whoop. Wanna fight about it?

Bears are notorious drunks, they fill up on fermented apples in the fall. Pretty funny to watch. Providing the alcohol and getting them drunk and wrestling them just sounds like the logical next step.

Of course, stands to reason.

Assa, I'm not talking about the bears in your moob pics. These are actual bears.

If I had to pick a state besides Nebraska, I'd be in a toss up between North Dakota and Montana. North Dakota would probably get the nod, as I don't do enough big game hunting to justify Montana. Then again, I'm not scared of the cold...

If you don't big game hunt then why not south Dakota? Pretty sure all other things being equal to ND but but Better pheasant numbers.

Plenty of pheasants in NoDak and way more public hunting opportunities. South Dakota is all pay to play.

I'd have to consider your circumstances. For an outdoorsman, there is some world class hunting and fishing to be had. If Nebraska had the same open fields and waters program, it would be a no brainer. Stupid fucking deer hunters ruin everything.

I honestly dont think the duck hunting is all it is cracked up to be. All of the OOSers that have crappy duck hunting, but as far as a duck mecca...it is a far cry. Plains deer hunting is just not my thing. Id rather be in the woods. Upland is superb there, but I have little to compare it to.

I've lived many places, but being raised within minutes of the ocean does something. Whenever I've been far away, I feel uneasy. Which is odd, considering I get seasick as hell.

I challenge you to name another state with as many ducks, with as much open land to hunt them with as little hunter pressure. Pheasant hunting is probably only second to SD. And as I said before, fuck deer hunting.

Alaska has way better duck hunting than ND. Having lived in both states the variety that AK brings trumps ND's hands down. When I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB we could hunt sea ducks, diver ducks and puddler ducks within one hour of Anchorage. Along with Brant, white-fronts and lesser canadas made for a busy day on the marsh. ND is awesome, but AK was and is way better.

I am spoiled living here. I never see myself leaving, ever. Well maybe a transfer to Omaha, NE. But that decision is still about 10 months away.

Let me know if you do, that's where I'm at right now. Deer hunters make hunting pretty tough around Omaha, but I'm working my way into a nice lease this fall. Still get a lot of birds down here, but it can be tough to get on em.
