So glad I quit

Postby aunt betty » Mon Apr 15, 2013 3:39 pm

Yep, I did it. Quit Cold-Turkey and I'm so much happier now that I quit....watching the news. Very sad to hear that there was some bad news today. I pray for the people that got hurt. Until they have the entire story including the end I don't really want to hear about it. The media speculation, drama, and how they run here and there chasing their tail (over ratings) is sickening. I AM curious and I AM concerned but don't want to be misled for weeks and weeks until I'm numb and no longer care. I can just skip to the end. I'm already there.

Me too AB.

As my dad told me and then I told Olly-

" fear dont work if you dont care".

I dont care much, just want to see the weather and glean a bit of news on my beloved Chiefs now and then. Other wise its not a big deal.

Speaking of the news blowing shit out of proportion, the tile of this article pisses me off. Just trying to make it a bigger deal and make it sound moer than what it is. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/1 ... ostpopular

It's the Huntington Post. What do you expect
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

With all news, you have to read between the author's portrayal of it. They are all biased one way or the other. I like drudge b/c I laugh at some of the antisemitism. Some of those people blame the jews for every dam thing.

I quit watching all my favorite news shows. Watched 60 minutes and Sunday Morning for many years.
Wrote them a goodbye letter on Facebook.
