And steamers (known as soft shells here) with the bellies make the best fried clams in the history of fried clams.

Agree. I've had a few 7s or 8s in my day and would rather slurp on the half shell. Never have had a ten so I cannot be completely sure.

Fresh quahogs go well with beer. I can always verify freshness as I always collect my own.

Bearded clams, delicious as they may be, are still shelfish and prone to spoilage. Too many beers and one may not realize the clam he is eating is past its best before date. Tragedy ensues.

Banging a whale with whiskey dick instead of bellying up to a dinner table full of shellfish is a real tragedy. Ive gotton into so many worthless fucks piss cocked. Glance into her eyes look down and see a fat load, go flaccid and then your fucked becasue you now have an emotional cow devastated by her own fat. Oh god never mind.

same here. I use to rot chicken legs in advance and tie strings to them, buy a twelve of pabst and take the canoe out with some rich hippie bitch in the saltmarsh fishing for blueclaws at night. So fun slowing pulling in a blue claw. We pulled a little raft around like AT does during the day time for clams too. Get adventurous and snorkel out to the bay scallop beds. Run back to shore when the bait blues and stripers and terns come through to get your topwater launching rod. Fucking heaven.

Freshwater fish will never taste as good as saltwater fish, not to mention all the other good eats that come from the ocean (crabs, clams, scallops, oysters, shrimp)

But there are Kings, Coho, Sturgeon, etc... Plenty of different fish of good size.

I realize there is much more to the oceans than the lakes and I love a vacation on the beach or on a boat, but I don't like sharks or hurricanes.

both sharks and hurricanes are exciting as hell. Hurricanes are not much worse than the bad summer storms we get here, they just last a few days instead of an hour, really ups the amplitude

We don't really have hurricanes on the west coast, for the most part. As for sharks, just hang out around where all the surfers are in the black wet suits and, wear light colored clothing when near or in the water. Sharks usually attack the surfers because when they are paddling their boards back out, they look like seal from under water.
