Yep I miss the discovery channel and history channel of our youth. Shows narrated by some British guy about African wild life, WW2, Vietnam, Korea, shit I even miss that crapy show Beyond 2000 that was on when we were kids.

Yep. Wasn't even that long ago that my wife would busy balls over me constantly watching what she called the "War Channel". Sucks now.

Try the Smithsonian channel if ya have it. Or once in a while animal planet will have reruns on planet earth or blue planet. I watched an episode of blue planet a couple nights ago where a whale carcass washed up on shore, so they drug it out to deep water and were going to sink it to film what eats it, it floated for days even with 5000# of weight, so theyre next step was to shoot it with .45s, is it just me or does that sound like fun, rippin shots off into a big pile of blubber!

When I grew up they didn't have any of those stations you guys are talking about. We had PBS that covered most of it. That's right one public broadcasting network. And then 3 other national networks of free TV, and 1 local network. That was it. At midnite, or there abouts, they all went off the air.

I went thru the same thing on the history channel. The wife and daughter would see what I was watching, goose step into the living room saying, "sieg heil", while doing the nazi salute. Later on they simply would say, "Nazis" or "he's watching the Nazi channel again".
