Reminds me of Quikclot powder and pads we used in Iraq. Problem was if the patient was allergic to shellfish it couldn't be used. They changed the ingredients later to alleviate that problem.

Yep, the new stuff is the tits. Buddy was shot in the arm and we had a long ways to go before we could get help. Poured the packet into the wound and got him home safely.
