Mind you, ample access to the potomic, which from what i observed is weak with maybe crawfish, catfish and smallies. didnt see a duck, but would have corn and soy fields for a goose showup that i am not sure is worth much. seems pretty dead and too far inland? effin dc suburb or what?

While we're waiting for Teague to show up, are you from Minnesota or New York ?

It's a bedroom community for DC, for the most part. Close enough to the hills to spend some quality time, and there's decent fishing in the Potomac, but not what you're looking for. Pretty much everything upstream from great falls is rocky as fuck, and shallow, but there's some decent enough spots. Don't know about the deer- might be pretty tough to get spots in farmland. There's a ton of national forest sort of close, but, again, I don't know how the deer situation is.

If you have a choice, try to get a little further west, maybe Winchester. Out there in the Shenandoah Valley is beautiful.

There's no hunting on Sundays in VA. Fuck that.
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Pretty sure you can hunt on Sunday in VA. The counties I've hunted in you can, anyway.

Not yet...things are looking like they may be changing.
Back to the original question. I despise anything about northern Virginia area. There's screwed up hunting laws on the Potomac, particularly the Md side. There's screwed up blind laws east of 95 too, unless you're a land owner or have permission from a land owner.
You'll be disappointed in va duck hunting, no doubt about it.
There's plenty of fishing and deer hunting opportunities, but the duck hunting isn't great.

That doesnt sound good at all. id have the land for deer, that would be ample and quite exclusive, i could put up numbers. it could keep me busy and i would get major props for becoming a nightime coyote sniper, if i piled coyote bodies on this place they would cook for free and give me lots of wine. probably get a few handshakes too. and then some whiskey shooters. and then probably duel with shotguns.

I suspect I get a free pass. Both times were deer hunting, on a farm in Spotsylvania county, and an orchard in King George county. Oh well.

You can go clamming on the eastern shore of va or md/ocean city area. There's crab houses and oyster bars too, but it's not like you can just go oystering and catch a bushel. You can crab, but there's laws/permits required if you have more than x number of pots. Md laws are probably different from va laws. I grew up in va, and when we wanted oysters and clams, we went to our buddy who was the commercial fisherman and bought them from him.

The traffic up in the northern va/dc area is absolutely rediculous. It'll make you want to do bodily harm to yourself.
