While we're waiting for Teague to show up, are you from Minnesota or New York ?

assateague wrote:It's a bedroom community for DC, for the most part. Close enough to the hills to spend some quality time, and there's decent fishing in the Potomac, but not what you're looking for. Pretty much everything upstream from great falls is rocky as fuck, and shallow, but there's some decent enough spots. Don't know about the deer- might be pretty tough to get spots in farmland. There's a ton of national forest sort of close, but, again, I don't know how the deer situation is.
If you have a choice, try to get a little further west, maybe Winchester. Out there in the Shenandoah Valley is beautiful.

You can go clamming on the eastern shore of va or md/ocean city area. There's crab houses and oyster bars too, but it's not like you can just go oystering and catch a bushel. You can crab, but there's laws/permits required if you have more than x number of pots. Md laws are probably different from va laws. I grew up in va, and when we wanted oysters and clams, we went to our buddy who was the commercial fisherman and bought them from him.
