You could make many days out of it, you'll just be looking at about a 3 hour drive is all. Make a weekend out of it, and you're set. Here in MD I think you can get about a bushel a day per person using traps, pots, or hand lines. But you'll never get that many , anyway, so don't worry about it. No license required for crabs or clams, but these fuckheads here do require a license to fish in the salt water now.

3 hrs is a period of relaxation I agree. No prob. I just want an opportunity to try to figure it out without spending moon money to get there.

It's worse because of all the Asians. And the fact that the population is very transient, due to the nature of the beast in DC. Every few years, it gets shuffled up, people constantly coming and people leaving, so not many really know the area very well, but they are all self-important pricks either working for government or working off of government money, while they can get it, before leaving and going back to wherever they started from. I hate that fucking area. Badly.

You won't have to spend a dime other than gas if you're looking to go crabbing and clamming. Maybe a little jingle for some chicken necks and a roll of twine, but that's about it.

Can you imagine trying to get out of nova, dc, or Baltimore on a Friday and head to ocean city? Better leave Thursday night...for real, or fly.

Yep. Trying to cross the Bay Bridge at 5:30 on a Friday in the summer is for dumbasses. Leave work before noon, or wait until 7.

Few things are as fun as floating around a cooler of frosty beverages, with some tunes cranking, digging up clams with your toes in the summer sun. 6 hours of fun for the cost of a case of beer and a bag of ice.

We had a squirrel named Number 2 once. He ate grapes like an apple.

all i can think about is fresh stripe bass and shellfish and 90 degrees right now. on LI i would eat tons of striper sushi as I cut them up. That is such a good eating fish. Bout to go shovel a foot of snow. wish jehler lived close, id give him a sixer of vernors and a rabbit or something to get this snow outta here.

I don't know this squirrel's name, but I don't think it's Number 2. Might be Bruce Wayne in his previous life.

If you do end up down here, and get to fish in the salt a bit, you should really go out for croaker when the weather gets hot. 50 a day limit, and they are my favorite eating fish, hands down.

No, croaker are everywhere when they start running. They'll be in anything from 4 feet to 20 feet. I've caught them from the surf, my little hybrid out next to a 20ft deep channel, in the flats in 3 feet of water, from a pier, from a bridge. Anywhere. Your boat will be just fine for croaker.

Here's another one. Video is shitty, but it shows pretty good what a day of croaker fishing is, and how it ends up. Ignore them with their comments of "monster croaker". While they were catching decent ones, it's not even a little out of the ordinary to fill the coolers with 12-16 inch croakers. I've caught many upwards of 17", too. It's a blast fishing these things. And they are deeee-licious.
