Had a friend get cancer at 25. He had a port to his heart that was just removed a few years ago, 8 years later.

Yup it's the same thing. I was diagnosed with leukemia in July of 2010. Still on treatment which is what they always do. I'm done in November of next year. What I'm on now is really easy stuff that doesn't make me feel bad anymore.
8 years!!! Damn that's a long time.

In the children's cancer world they take it out as soon as they can. Some kids even get it taken out early and just get IVs when they have to get chemo.

They wanted to leave my moms in for a year but she said no and she is getting hers out in January.

Yup not kidding. No. I've been homeschooled since 1st grade. It did help being homeschooled so I could take half a year off when I was really sick.
