Pronounced sky, they were originally Skyy, but got sued by the vodka company. Pretty good little gun actually, lot of good reviews on it. I should actually be getting one here pretty soon, so I'll be able to test it out myself. You can't go wrong with Ruger, although I'd prefer the LC9 over the LCP, not too much bigger, but big enough you can actually handle it. The other one, although it probably won't be available for a while, would be the Springfield XDs in 9mm. Just got debuted at SHOT Show 3 weeks ago, but that would probably be the one I would pick if I had anything available to me right now.

Ok, you know I'm cheap, so take this with a grain of salt. I have an IO Hellcat, which is basically a Ruger LCP knockoff, in .380. Pretty much identical to the Ruger, except mine was $200, not $319. I've put about 250-300 rounds through it and had one fail to eject. One. It's fairly accurate for what it is, as well. And I carry mine everywhere. Mind you, this is a "no carry" state for all intents and purposes, so it needs to stay hidden pretty darn well. I love it so far.

When I see SCCY, I think of CCCP. Must be Russian. Then it's sued by a vodka company. And I think oh yea its Russian

Here's another one you probably haven't heard of that is a very good little gun. Diamondback, either the DB9 or DB380.

Good choice Aaron I have the LCP in 380 and I forget I'm carrying it some times it's so light. I've put about 250 round thru mine with two misfeeds. I've also heard good things about the body guard but its a little more coin.

Also take a look at the s&w mp shield. I think they are a pinch bigger than the lc9.

Not if you stick to the .38 Spcl only. Should easily be able to find a S&W 442 (Black) or 642 (Silver) for under $500, probably even closer to $400 if you shop around. Still get the lightweight Scandium frame, just don't get to shoot .357's out of it. Are you wanting hammerless or is that an issue?

The LCR is right around 500 I think. You could probably find a used one cheaper. I shot my aunts and really liked it. Slipped it into my pocket loaded and i didn't even notice it was there. Plus you get 38+p knock down......

I also forgot to tell you the s&w is double action every shot, which I like for carry.

You can get a belly holster. They are funny looking but would be great for going out running. Basically a big elastic type band with a pocket on the left and right side. It tucks the gun up against your body and helps hide the outline of it. Wear it under a t shirt and go.

Red, I agree with Waterfowlman when it comes to the S&W Airlites. I have 2 that I carry everywhere, although not always both at the same time. One is the 442, which is the blued version and the other is the 642, which is the stainless. Both are hammerless. The only problem I've ever had in either of these guns was actually more ammo related. I had bought some cheap practice ammo and had several FTF's. The firing pin left an indention on the primer, but they failed to fire. Upon closer inspection, it was determined that the primer was actually recessed a little so the firing pin wasn't making maximum impact. Once I changed ammo, I haven't had any problems. I can't remember what I paid for each, but fairly certain they were each less than $500.
